Puur Terschelling believes in the power of collaboration and looks beyond our own island borders. Puur Terschelling actively participates in international and national programmes. This way, we continue to improve our operations and implement innovations that benefit our environment and the local community. Regenerative tourism means for us: learning, innovating and inspiring. Our projects

Puur Terschelling is constantly on the move. We're delighted to highlight a few projects.

Cross-Re-Tour project

The Cross-Re-Tour project is a European initiative that helps tourism businesses with their commitment to sustainable and digital offerings. Puur Terschelling started its own project, where we feed our chickens and pigs the surplus food from guests and local hospitality businesses.

CE4RT project

The CE4RT project helps tourism businesses with their commitment to regenerative tourism. The basic principle is that you add value to your surroundings. Puur Terschelling focuses on four key areas: fair food, clean water, climate-friendly actions and nature restoration.

Leading Environmental Barometer Project

Puur Terschelling assessed the company in 2017 based on the Environmental Barometer. This provided clear insight into our impact on the local environment. Based on these findings, we began implementing improvements in the areas of energy, waste and water usage.

Our partners

Our family business is surrounded by the Wadden Sea and North Sea. We feel strongly connected to this unique place, where nature has so much to offer us. A natural island with expansive beaches. Daily, we dedicate ourselves to preserving and improving our environment. We do this together with parties who share our vision and mission. From nature organisations to a local caterer; everyone works with heart for Terschelling's nature and traditions. This way, we choose regenerative business practices and can pass this place on to future generations.
