Welcome to Puur Terschelling! We are the Bierema family. Enterprising islanders with a heart for Terschelling's nature. In our family business, everything revolves around animals, respect for our environment and 'that special feeling I mean'. This unique location on the Wadden gives us pure moments of happiness every day, and we love sharing these with our guests. During Puur activities, we introduce you to Terschelling and island life.

Joining forces
We are a true family business, together we run the company in this unique location. We each have our own talents and complement each other perfectly. A passion for outdoor life and working outside with horses, sheep, donkeys, nature management, sustainable Puur activities, with a fondness for 4x4 Land Rovers and regenerative business practices; we give each other complete freedom. And this leads to surprising Puur activities and a strong foundation for our diversified farm business.
Contemporary and self-sufficient
For us, entrepreneurship isn't just an empty phrase, but a way of life. Our family lives and works at this beautiful location in Oosterend on Terschelling, a great privilege! In everything we do, we care for our surroundings. Our animals graze the natural landscape and we strive for 'zero on the meter'. We drive sustainable 4x4 Land Rovers, consciously choose regenerative business practices and work together with local partners. Following in our ancestors' footsteps, we do an enormous amount ourselves and would love to become completely self-sufficient. Islanders are creative and used to standing on their own two feet, so Anne and Bentum do the hoof care for our horses themselves.

At Puur Terschelling, we offer plenty of opportunities for work, internships and volunteer work, where you can support various activities, both in front of and behind the scenes. Whether you love farm life, the island feeling of Terschelling and working with people and animals: there's always a place where you can contribute. Puur Terschelling is a versatile family business with a horse farm (Friesian and Shire horses), a sheep farm, nature management and Puur activities, which means no day is the same. As an SBB recognised training company, we offer interns an educational and enjoyable placement. Throughout the year, there are opportunities to get started with us during various periods.
